Coming Soon....

I'm working on a "Greatest Disney Villains" list at the moment. I won't have time to finish it right away (things to do, people to see!...Well, actually I just want to play Bad Company 2), but it should be done soon enough. Stay dry everyone!

Speaking of Disney...

I really love Disney. Like most kids, I grew up on the movies. Once I started getting really passionate about art, I became even more passionate about Disney animated films. Recently a friend of mine made a very cool list about his favorite Disney songs and it inspired me. So as soon as I have time I'm thinking of putting up some list of my own regarding Disney. Probably one about favorite characters and maybe another about favorite Disney movies....who knows. We'll see how I feel when the time comes.

Oh and on a side note...I watched The Princess and the Frog today. Not bad at all. If your a fan of Disney like I am, it's definitely worth your time.

Thoughts on...

Thoughts on, "Tangled"

I saw Tangled on Thursday with my girlfriend. We both decided it was our favorite Disney movie. Crazy? Maybe. I don't know, I just loved everything about it. The pacing was perfect. The comedy was almost nonstop. The villain was truly evil...seriously....she was a bitch! And it featured some of the most gorgeous visuals I've seen in a computer animated film. Well done. Very deserving to be considered Disney's 50th animated film.

Video Game Awards 2010

Okay, here is a pretty amateur list of the things I liked most about gaming this year. Just remember, I'm not made entirely of money so I haven't had the honor of playing all of the best games this year. Also, remember theses are just my opinions. With that being said please enjoy.

Best Single Player Games of 2010

1. Red Dead Redemption (PS3)
There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this epic tale of the final days of the wild west. You play as John Marston, a former outlaw trying to live out the rest of his life with his wife and son on their quite ranch. However, the newly formed FBI has other plans for John. Unless you want your family to be taken from you, you must hunt down and eliminate the remanding members of your former gang.
Beautiful visuals, fun/intense gun fighting, spot-on voice acting, and an amazing and always interesting story...this game had it all. Oh, and not to mention my pick for the best downloadable content of the year...Red Dead: Undead. Yes, you got it. The wild west...and zombies. Definitely my favorite Rockstar game of all time.

2. Mass Effect 2 (Xbox 360)
Mass Effect was something of a let down. Don't get me wrong, it was a fun game with quite a bit of content. Mass Effect 2 multiplies that by about a thousand! The story is epic. You play as Commander Shepard once again. This time you are working for a not so friendly and mysterious organization. Why? Because they are funding your new ship, crew and weaponry. The catch? You'll just have to play to find out.
What I like best about this game is how they really make you feel as if you are commander and chief of your ship and crew. The fact that almost if not all characters on your ship are very interesting and fun to interact with. Throw in some awesome combat scenarios and totally epic/emotional scenes and you've got yourself a masterpiece of a game. Follows closely behind Red Dead for game of the year.

3. NBA 2k11 (PS3)
Few people really know my love for basketball. That's because the game has changed in recent years. People like Kobe Bryant and Lebron James don't impress me (okay, maybe Kobe a little bit) the way that Mr. Air Jordan himself did back in the day. Michael Jordan was my hero growing up and basketball was my true love. NBA 2K11 brings back the Royal Airness himself along with some of the greatest games he's ever played. You also have the opportunity to recruit MJ to any team you choose and battle for the championship. As well as some of the greatest teams in history, including Larry Bird's Celtics, Magic Johnson's Lakers, Karl Malone's Jazz and more. Not only do you have the option to relive the glory days of basketball but the gameplay, graphics and commentary are remarkable. Many times I've had people walk into my room while I was playing and it took them a couple of minutes to figure out I wasn't watching a real game. Greatest sports game I've ever played....ever.

4. God of War 3 (PS3)

God of War 1 and 2 weren't as good to me as they were to most people. To be fair though, I bought them long after they were released and video gaming had definitely transformed by then. God of War 3 gets with the times and boy is it an eye opener. Yes, it's mostly just bloody good fun...but its some of the bloodiest fun in video game history. Kratos is finally about to get his revenge...and he's making one big statement by doing so. This game has some of the most fun boss battles I've ever played, along with some of the most beautiful visuals I've ever seen in a game.

5. Heavy Rain (PS3)

My pick for most original game of the year. It's basically an interactive movie. A serial killer crime drama much like the movie Seven. This game is full of surprises and some of the most likeable characters in video games. Depending on the choices you make, the game might just break your heart. A true work of art.

6. Bioshock 2 (Xbox 360)

Ahhh, Bioshock. The first Bioshock was one of my top 3 video games of all time. The second one? Not so much. Don't get me wrong, I still loved it just for the fact that it was set in one of my favorite settings...but it just didn't feel fresh enough to truly amaze me. The best way I can describe my feelings is that I played Bioshock about 7 or 8 times all the way thru. I played Bioshock 2 once so far and I've had it since February. Maybe I'm just waiting for you to come back, Andy? Who knows, it's still my 6th favorite game of the year.

7. Halo Reach (Xbox 360)

Everyone knows what this game is all about. The beginning or the end? The story of how the war begun and how planet Reach ends. A great prequel to a great series.

8. Medal of Honor (PS3)

Another game that received a lot of hype but didn't pull thru for most gamers in the end. I loved the missions...it just wasn't enough. If single player were long this may just have been higher on my list.

Most Disappointing Game of the Year

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
I was pretty excited about this one. It reminded me of Final Fantasy X. Not anymore. Now, you must realize I haven't played the whole game so it may just turn around and be amazing at some point. But not yet at least. Too linear, too repetitive and not enough bad ass characters like Auron.

Best Multiplayer Experience

1.Call of Duty: Black Ops (Xbox 360)
When it comes to Call of duty online...I my vote goes to Treyarch. Infinity Ward may when in the campaign department but Treyarch's got them beat in multiplayer. More balanced and better level design. World at War and Black Ops has some of the best multiplayer out there.

*Battlefield Bad Company 2 (runner-up) (Xbox 360)

Getting frustrated with all of the veteran Call of Duty players? Give Battlefield a try. Arguably even more balanced than Black Ops (I believe it is) this game has a very genuine online experience.

Best Graphics

God of War 3 (PS3)

Breathtaking visuals. Just look at that screen shot! Need I say more?
Coolest Characters

1. John Marston (Red Dead Redemption)
One of the greatest voiced characters in video game history (up there with Solid Snake and Nathan Drake, he he...rhymed), John Marston is a total and complete bad ass. His days as an outlaw are long over when the FBI forces him to draw his peacemakers once again...and it doesn't take long for him to get back to his old self. He won't think twice about ending you.
2. Noble Team (Halo Reach)
It was too hard to just pick one of these legendary Spartans. They all fought for the same thing and all with equal passion. Their team name explains it all.

3. Scott Shelby (Heavy Rain)
Wow. What a character. This overweight private eye may not look like much, but he packs a serious punch and has the passion to do what he thinks is necessary. Not to mention some of the tricks he has up his sleeve. You've got to play the game to find out for yourself what Scott Shelby is all about.

4. Hades (God of War 3)
I'm an artistic guy. So when I first saw the design for the lord of the underworld himself, I was amazed. This guy is a totally evil badass. Not to mention he has my favorite boss fight in the game.

5. Thane (Mass Effect 2)
The silent assassin. Thane is much of a mystery...but how can you not love the greatest assassin in the galaxy?

Games Not Yet Played BUT Excited For This Year

1. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (PS3)
Speaking of Assassin's. Based on the reviews this game definitely caught me off guard. Only a year after Assassin's Creed 2 is released Brotherhood is getting remarkable review scores. 5 out of 5 stars? Count me in, it's going on my xmas list.

2. Monster Hunter Tri (Wii)

There is something about hunting some of the most dangerous monsters in the land that just sounds very intriguing and fun to me. Plus, it's gotten pretty good reviews...I'll definitely be picking this one up soon.

3. Fallout New Vegas (PS3)

Fallout 3 was one of the most massive games I've ever played (heck I'm not even done with the extras), New Vegas looks like it will deliver much of the same.

4. Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)

I was never a big fan of the original Mario games. However, I did love Super Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy was even better. I NEED to play the sequel ASAP.

Looking Forward to in 2011

1. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
The follow up to my favorite game of 2009, this is going to be amazing. I know it. Fall 2011 cannot come soon enough.

2. Batman: Arkham City

Batman: Arkham Asylum is my favorite super hero game of all time. Expand the setting to the whole of Gotham City...what's not to get excited about?

3. Dead Space 2

Dead Space is probably my favorite survival horror game of all time. You know I'm excited for this one.

THE END

Okay, there you have it. That's my list. It actually turned out more complex than what I was going for. That's cool with me. I hope all 2 or 3 of you enjoyed this. Maybe it will inspire you to make one of your own. Thanks for reading!

Coming Soon....

It's been awhile since my last post...and today I'm home in bed sick, so I guess I'll do something productive for you guys. Later on today I'm going to post my Top Games of 2010 list. I haven't played all of them so obviously my list may differ from some of yours. But it's my list and that's what counts. Oh, and did you guys happen to see the news on Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception?! I am officially counting down the days until Fall 2011. Anyways, stay tuned for that list later on today. Take care to all two of you fans in the USofA and all one of you in South Korea. Peace!
